Bride Irene Kim (Editor-at-Large of The Genteel) and her groom Kevin chose the regal Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto, Ontario as the venue for their intimate wedding. Irene's vision was to complement the venue with an 'English garden' theme. With that in mind, Sarah Wu of Petite Studio created elegant floral designs and some unexpected decor touches. With photography by Melissa Sung Photography, this wedding features the classic 'Hayley' wedding gown and a five-flower headpiece from Vera Wang Bridal, Toronto.
On a quiet little side street between two of the busiest streets in the country sits one of the gems of the hotel world–not just in Toronto, or even this country, but one of the gems of the entire hotel world. This is not just a personal opinion, while certainly being that, it is also an opinion backed up by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine which named the Windsor Arms Hotel the third best boutique hotel in the world (out of almost 300 boutique hotels scrutinized worldwide).
The Windsor Arms Hotel is located at 18 Saint Thomas Street, just south of Bloor St. W, between Bay St. and Avenue Rd. In addition to their afternoon tea service, Windsor Arms Hotel is also known for their fine dining and most recently, their newly added vegan menus at Prime restaurant!
The weather is getting colder and we most likely will not be able to wear our summer dresses until May/June 2013. I think we can also say goodbye to ice cream and cold lemonade for now. Do not be upset, though; the tea season is upon us!
With Mother's Day fresh on my mind (because I have a mother, not because I am one), I think of my annual promise to take my mom for high tea at the illustrious Windsor Arms Hotel. Granted, it's less about wanting to sip tea ever-so-delicately in a swanky Toronto landmark than it is about wanting to channel Holly Golightly. As soon as I make good on that promise, this is what I'll wear.
