Anyone who knows me will tell you that my soul is more akin to an eighty year old grandmother than it is a twenty five year old. Though I do enjoy a good party now and again (more so if there is karaoke involved), I am just as happy, if not more, cozying up with a nice cuppa tea.
This week my teen daughter and I took some time to spend it together by going to the Twilight Tea at The Windsor Arms Hotel. This fine 4 star hotel that housed the original TIFF is like stepping back in time in many ways. It truly is a bit of Toronto history which is one of the reasons I love it so.

I met Andrew Dobson during a site visit to Toronto. His energy, love for the city, and fabulous food recommendations convinced me that he would be a great addition to our TBEX line up, as we expand our reach into the food and culinary niches. With the theme of “Eat Well, Travel Hard, Live Better”, Andrew’s blog Dobbernation Loves serves up slices of life and food around the world.
During one of the days at the hotel I got to experience a day with Executive Pastry Chef, Rita. It was defiantly a fun experience; I got to make many various desserts for the afternoon tea event that happens at the hotel. As soon as I went into the kitchen Rita had me wear a coat and apron with a funky hairnet. Right after getting all dressed I was ready to get baking! Rita got me started by rolling cookies and right after I got to make red velvet cupcakes. After spending the day with Rita in the kitchen, I noticed how dramatically my baking skills improved and was quite impressed with myself. Overall I enjoyed the day baking, it was such a fun experience and I am egger also excited to spend more days in the kitchen with Rita.

Nestled just below Yorkville in the elegant Windsor Arms tearoom, Persona Jewelry unveiled their latest collection of Spring-inspired jewelry, available to the public late April 2013. The women of Persona Jewelry select the most delicate and light-catching beadwork they can find, usually sourcing materials from Italy (crystal) and beyond, rounding out the airy beads with sturdy and luminous sterling silver. This season Persona draws inspiration from delicate flora and fauna with their Paradise collection. The beads in this line feature petite and brightly coloured flowers and butterflies made from a mix of cubic zirconia accents and enamel paint. All the small accents are also three dimensional, giving the beads a life of their own.

It all started in the kitchen. One day, Heather Reier decided to do some research on beauty products. She browsed the Internet and read a couple of books. The next thing she knew, Reier was mixing ingredients in a large bowl with a hand mixer, trying to create a body lotion that was natural, with a soft texture and pleasant aroma.
