On Saturday, May 29th Rethink Breast Cancer hosted the second annual tea in honour of the remarkable volunteers who provide peer support to young women with breast cancer. Our team of skilled volunteers includes 18 young women in their 20s, 30s and 40s, who have experienced breast cancer and who have chosen to use their experience to support other young women who are going through it. This year the tea took place in the elegant Fireplace Room at the Windsor Arms Hotel in downtown Toronto.
Wedding Bells Magazine just celebrated their 25th anniversary of being Canada’s leading, ”modern”, and “style-conscious bride-to-be’s” resource for wedding planning. That kind of a milestone definitely deserves a no-holds-barred cocktail reception to celebrate … and celebrate they did!
The weather today was not as warm as the 17-19 degree weather we have been experiencing. in March. So, the day before Spring officially arrives, temperatures here (we live about 1 ½ hours north of Toronto) are hovering around 4 degrees. As, I let our little Yorkie out for some fresh air, our outing is cut short by a shower of light freezing rain. Once back inside, my thoughts drifted to Afternoon Tea.
went to Toronto for two days last week to research stories for my blog, to attend a social media event and to meet people. One thing on my list was having a formal tea service. When I saw that Windsor Arms starts serving their tea service at 1 pm, I jumped at the occasion. Some people find it old-fashioned but I like the luxurious feeling of sitting in a classical tea room. For me, the more formal style is part of the pleasure.
