Long time readers of HHL already know I LOVE afternoon tea and the tea room at Windsor Arms is one of my very favourites in Toronto. I have wonderful memories of sharing tea with friends there, over the years. It started out as an after Christmas shopping trip in Yorkville treat with some girl friends years ago; evolving over the years to outings for birthday celebrations, girl friend catch ups on life's ups and downs (lots of laughs and tears have been shared here) and other times for no reason other than we love afternoon tea.
So, when friend E. invited me to tea at Windsor Arms -
there was no hesitation, "only when and what time?"
My love affair with Windsor Arms goes back to the days of the cigar lounge - when I would go with one of my girl friends to mix, mingle, enjoy the music, atmosphere and kick back on a Thursday or Saturday night after a long week at the office. The smell of a good cigar in the air was intoxicating while we sipped cognac. Yes, the good "old" days. An other friend introduced me to afternoon tea after Christmas shopping in Yorkville one afternoon - and it became an annual outing with many tea adventures throughout the year as well. But I had never checked out the Windsor Arms Spa... until today!
A few weeks back, I was invited by the Windsor Arms Hotel to check out its new Sunday Brunch Buffet. That was phenomenal. Then, a few weeks later, Windsor Arms Hotel reached out to me and asked me if I would like to try its latest new spa treatment called the “Salt Cave”. When I first heard it, I was curious. That’s because that was the first time I heard of Salt Cave session but what is it? Thus, I wanted to give it a try. You know me, I am always down for a new unique experience.
I am one of those people that is addicted to being busy. I need to feel like I’m constantly being productive. If I’m at home, it’s very easy for me to have three screens going (phone, tv and computer) like I do right now, I’m even one of those people who sleeps with the TV on to have the background noise. I find silence a little eerie. So, there is not many times when I just turn off everything, maybe at the occasional yoga class or massage but those are pretty infrequent occasions.
